Vancouver Fall 2012: If the Hat Fits...
Sep. 27th, 2012 11:59 pmI awoke in Munchkinland and had to kneel for my morning shower. I then went off to meet
othelianna, whom I spent the day with.
Meeting at Broadway station I had a general plan for the day, which can be summed up as breakfast, window shopping, dinner. Thus, we wandered up Commercial drive where we found one of the ubiquitous sushi restaurants and had some food. From there we walked to Gourmet Warehouse, where I always end up spending money. Finally we went to Granville Island where we bought ingredients for a wonderful repast and did our usual arrangement for food/drink (R has the talent and I have the money). We also found a place that does custom embroidery and also sells weird stuff.
R and I are standing in front of their hat display, lamenting the fact that we each have a giant melon.
I ended up buying a nice felt hat that's about midway between a fedora and an akubra. Now to make sure to wear it during the fall and not the summer, lest I ruin it.
We made our way back to Port Moody where R made supper and we all chatted with
garething and his wife S. Afterwards I introduced them to Cards Against Humanity. S downloaded it that night and printed it off at Staples on Saturday.

All in all a nice relaxing days with good friends I don't see often enough.

"Those are some nice looking hats"We both sigh. R picks up one hat and puts it on. Weirdly, it fits. And not just fits, it fits well and looks really sharp!
"Too bad none of them are going to fit."
"Yeah."
"What luck, this hat fits."She grabs another one. It fits too. I grab a hat. It also fits. In all, about half of the two dozen hats on display fit us. One or two were too big.
"You really lucked out there, grabbing the one hat in the pile that would fit."
