Saturday night was probably the worst for the cold, which is paradoxical. I had a bed warmer so my left side was toasty warm. The problem was that I didn't have proper coverage of my right side. All it would have taken was waking the other person up, rearranging the bedding and going back to sleep, but I didn't want to wake them up. All I can say is that:
Aside: The fact that portable, heated, showers exist is something Montengarde should investigate when we do Quad War 2011.
Five of us where getting a ride to the Phoenix airport that day and we all scrambled to get as much packed as we could before we had to leave. Exit time was 10:00 for us for our assorted flights at 14:00. This gave us an hour of travel time, two hours or airport time and an hour of in-case-shit-happens time. I managed to get all of my stuff packed up by 9:30 so I ran off to the vendors to grab breakfast and hot chocolate.
We actually left on time with all of our luggage for the plane packed (The Emu Caravan was less fortunate in their timeliness). With Beothuk's kind assistance, Myself,
thekillerb69,
naughtynat07,
justgemma17 and
bork107 all got to the airport on time. Note I said "on time" and not "early". We managed to use every minute of out in-case-shit-happens time stuck in a traffic jam. Thanks to
justgemma17 for insisting on the extra time. We probably wouldn't have been fucked if we left an hour later, but the trip would have been ten times more stressful. Instead of tearing our hair out, we made witty comments about people on the highway and I read the first chapter of The Pirates! in an Adventure with Whaling out loud.
After a few wrong turns we managed to get to the correct terminal. Some good advice from airport personnel got me my boarding pass almost instantly, unlike the bullet-headed hillbilly threatening to smack his wife in the line-up with 100 people. The bad news was, they made their flight and it was mine. The good news is he must have taken some drugs because he was much calmer. Does meth make you mellow? The ads say sex for $10 face down in a back alley is possible with meth, so maybe waiting quietly in your seat is possible too.
The five of us reconvened in the food fair, had a pleasant lunch and went out separate ways. Me to my US Airways flight to Vegas, and the others to their Westjet flight back to Cowtown.
- I'm a tard.
