My first full-day at Estrella was spent exploring. As advertised, there were more food merchants there then Quad War gets total merchants. And then there were the fifty-or-so non-food merchants. It was pretty note-worthy as far as buying things goes.

Of particular interest was one fellow selling very nice, exotic hardwood viking chairs. These are the two-plank chairs that look stupid but are actually damn comfortable. He was selling a pair of them for $250 that I almost bought. Stopping me was the thought that my car is going to cost me a hojillion dollars when I get back and I didn't have a way of getting them back home.

Next time I'll probably buy them and do so early in the event so I can relax on them. Much better then the bag chairs typical for camping.

In the afternoon I armoured up for the first time that wasn't a practice and participated in the quick and the dead, Estrella's combat archery box tournament. Archery duels basically.

I came in last. It was double elimination and I was the only person eliminated in two rounds. I was angry at myself and ended up snapping at the winner. He did not deserve this so I apologised the next day. Better would have been to not be an asshole in the first place. Better still would have been to not have fucked up so much in the tournament. I'm a much better shot then that tournament indicated.

So I was feeling pretty shitty that day. Given the events of travel day and Wednesday, I was feeling some definite buyer's remorse when it came to this whole Estrella thing.
