Good Timing
Jan. 14th, 2008 12:00 pmWe have one of those honour system snack boxes in the lunch room at work. Basically, a box full of chips, candy bars and gum that you can buy for a $1.
This morning I saw a new candy bar I hadn't tried, that looked tasty (peanut butter Twix bar - It was worth the dollar, but not worth the seven WW points it cost me). I grabbed the bar, intending to pay later because I only had a twenty on me.
So now it's lunch time and I'm back in the break room. I look down at the box and notice it's getting pretty empty. I think to myself "Hmm. Better pay my debt, the guy's probably going to come in any time now". I pull the change box out and make change for myself, leaving the twenty and keeping $19.
I microwave my lunch and thirty seconds later the guy shows up to swap the boxes out. And I prevented myself from being a no-good deadbeat by less then a minute. Yay me.
