SCA Fatigue
Oct. 13th, 2007 12:09 amI was going to go to Myrgan Wood Anniversary this weekend. As it got closer and closer I dreaded it more and more. Not that it's a bad event (The events I've gone to that Myrgan Wood has put on have all been enjoyable). It's just that I've done a lot of traveling of late, and gone to a lot of events this year. Hell, I just got back from the left coast a few days ago.
Combine this with the idea that I needed to go (rather then wanted to go. It just felt like a chore.
Why did I need to go? Well I'd like to win the Avacal archery tournament of tournaments. I'm leading, but the margin wasn't quite good enough to guarantee a win. I felt that I'd have to go to keep ahead of the two people just behind me, Dalton and Helene.
Good news: Dalton also didn't go to the event and it's Helene's event (she's the Baroness of Myrgan Wood), so she won't get the bonus points for distance). Of the remaining events for the year, none list archery tournaments as part of the festivities. Borealis Yule Feast doesn't have event copy that I've seen, so it might be an exception. November Coronet does have event copy, but it's kind of terse, so it might have left stuff off.
In other archery-related news, I scored 91 on my royal round this evening! It included my first perfect end - that's six bulls-eyes out of six arrows for a grand total of thirty points! The complete breakdown:

19 @ 40 ydYay me! This also brings my royal round average up a fraction to 91.7. Only two more chances to bring that up to 100 before the royal round season ends.
