Being made of "water-based biodegradable paint", Homer has all the lasting power and nutritional value of cotton candy. Of course, if he was carved from native chalk and cared for for a thousand years, who's to say he wouldn't be worshipped by future pagans?

Blows to the Head and Ego

Went to my first fighter practice as an active participant. My borrowed armour passed as "good enough for practice, but not for actual tournaments or war". Baz showed me a few shots then cranked me in the head.

Later, everyone got into some war scenarios - shield wall tactics and such. First time out, I got cranked in the head by Baz. Next time I ran into their shield wall as the point man - and got cranked in the head by Baz. Final time, we just closed and I got cranked in the head by Baz.

Baz was very much a good sport about it, so I don't mind. Tomorrow we shall see how my neck holds up.

It's very frustrating to go from something you're very good at (archery) to something you're green as grass at (heavy fighting). There was the barest hint of fun though, so I'm definitely going to try it again. Hopefully I'll have something to shoot with at Quad War though, or my time in combat will be so short, you'll need an atomic clock to measure it.
