Addendum to Straight But Not Narrow
Mar. 6th, 2004 03:53 pmHere's a rule the whole family can use:
If you are composing an argument, and you find yourself beginning with any of the following:
"I'm not [ racist | bigoted | homophobic | prejudiced ] but..."
"I have no problem with [ gays | blacks | jews | accountants ] but..."
"Some of my best friends are [ gay | black | jewish | furries ]..."
... Maybe you should reconsider making the argument in the first place.
Plus, how many times does it need to be said? "Homophobia" is not the fear of homosexuals - it's the fear of living in a world where homosexuality is accepted.
