Out of idle curiosity, I checked to see how much it would cost to go to San Francisco for the weekend. Turns out it would cost $800. Inclusive.

You should see how much it is to come to Flint, Michigan. I've come to the conclusion that Flint lies on a Hellmouth. Therefore the price should be cheaper.

Wow! Really! I wonder why? It's such a shit-hole. It was rated the #3 most dangerous city int he U.S. right after #1 St. Louis and #2 Detroit. Except it doesn't really have anything nice there.

I think the reason is implicit in your assertion that Flint is a shit-hole. Airlines aren't in business to entice people to go to shit-holes. They're in the business of flying people to the places they want to go. The more flights they have go to San Francisco, the cheaper it becomes.

stephtopia can attest to this. Flights from Calgary to St. John's are almost always more expensive then flights to Europe (despite being in the same country). For the most part only Newfs want to go to Newfoundland, but everyone wants to go to Europe. Newfoundland isn't even a shit-hole according to garething. I guess I'll be finding that out myself this fall when I go to their wedding.

Cheaper to buy te all yo can fly package

It would be cheaper to buy the all you can fly package that Air Canada was offering (think it still might be going on) its about $400 for North America but you could fly only on two days of the week. You did need to take the package for at least 2 mths.
