Got back to Chris & Athena's really late and crashed for another oh-so-restful sleep-in-half-the-morning sleeps that their couch induces in me. It's damn comfy and long enough for me to stretch out in. I need to look into replacing my own comfy couch with a similar one that is long enough for me to lie across. Fat chance of me being able to afford it anytime in the near future.

I'm hemorrhaging money this trip and I don't care. Mostly because I have a ton of money in savings I've decided to spend on loose living (not all of it - I just want to get out of debt and have a good time doing it, which I admit is sort of backward).

Three big things happened today: I got to see the Tiddly Cove Dancers. I got to visit with [livejournal.com profile] zapgun4hire. I got a home-cooked meal compliments of Clan Moleski.

The Tiddly Cove dancers are a Woman's Morris Dancing troupe here in Vancouver. Athena is a member (though she's currently one of the musicians and therefore doesn't dance). They performed at the Burnaby Village Museum (like Calgary's Heritage Park, only smaller) and also participated in the Victoria Day parade that occurred there.

I had a "D'oh!" moment when I asked Athena who the cute girl I was watching/lusting after in the dance troupe. "Forget it, she's only 15." I swear to ghod I thought she was in her mid twenties.

Morris Dancing is a traditional style of folk dancing from rural England. It dates back to the 13th century which makes me wonder why I haven't seen a higher intersect between Tiddly Cove and the SCA. They seem like a natural fit.

Afterword, we went out for lunch with Brian (aka Lord Anger) and we caught up with each other again. Nothing for public consumption except to say that Brian's life is in a time of transition.

Finally, I met up with Carmen and Josh and went off to visit her family. It's always pleasant as I get along well with them. Also, it's nice to have a really really tasty and filling meal in the meat-and-potatoes category (Man does not live by sushi alone). Tonights entree was barbecued chicken with rice corn and salad. In fact, I had a piece of chicken skin so good it damn near redefined "orgasmic" for me. Then I made the mistake of asking how they made it.
Take a piece of chicken with the skin, rub Lowry's Seasoning Salt into it, barbecue at the lowest setting for 45 minutes. Simple.
Now I know why it tastes so good - it's nothing but fat and salt! Eating it took a year off my life and I don't care.

I must remember to run. So I can have more chicken.
