Have Car, Will Travel - Part 6
Nov. 24th, 2005 05:53 pmSo Vancouver and back adds up to about 2000 K. I am now killing time until SCA tavern, at which I will show up until I am sufficiently tired, then I will go home.
What did I do today? I drove mostly. I started by giving Troy and Jo a ride to work first thing in the morning (with the added advantage that they both work on the highway, so I didn't get all turned around like I had trying to find their place). Later, I stopped at a Revelstoke restaurant called the Frontier - a place where western cliches go to die. They played both kinds of music (country and western), the bathrooms were labeled "chicks" and "roosters". The whole place was decorated in bare pine. Every item in the menu had a cutsy "old west" name.
The good news is that places like that do at least have good food if you stick to the cliches - I had bacon, eggs and pancakes (or rather, flapjacks). Like a fool I'm heading out to my WW weigh-in, even though I know I've put on a few pounds due to my indulgences this week. On the bright side, I think the cold has finally gone away, so nothing is stopping me from having a run tomorrow.
