No 38 Million For Me (sadly)

I read this on 5th_estate and thought I should share.

If I were a billionaire, the three most extravagant things I would want would be a baseball team, an old-fashioned movie palace, and a newspaper. Because I like those things. I wouldn't expect big returns, but I also wouldn't endow them with dump-trucks full of my money; I'd be happy with break-even. Because a winning ball club, a real theater (as opposed to a crappy little closet at the multiplex), and a solid newspaper are good for the community.They're good for the soul.

I agree with the movie palace and the newspaper (especially here in Cowtown). The sports team? Not so much.

Mission 101 Update

Cause I needed to see if I'd done anything worthwhile in the last three months.

Done:

52. Have a meal at Tojo's in Vancouver.
55. Make doughnuts using Dad's recipe.

It's a little annoying that the only accomplished goals in the last few months have been related to eating.

In Progress:

57. Go to at least one movie a month for a year.

• January: Eragon, Children of Men, Pan's Labyrinth.
  
• February: Ghost Rider.
  
• March: The Astronaut Farmer, 300.

Well I blew this one in December, so I get to start over in January. Feh.
61. Start gaming Call of Cthulhu again.
89. Research single's vacations.
91. Friend (in an LJ sense) ten complete strangers. (going slower then I hoped, because I want to friend interesting people)
