Impressive Accessories

Riding my bike home from work yesterday I had to go through one medium sized intersection - it's pretty much they only spot I'm really exposed to cars other then residential streets.

This guy in a truck has to wait for me to get through the four-way stop, then pulls around and passes me. It's only a 50K zone, but he felt the need to really rev his engine as he passed me. You know, the engine rev that communicates "You're wasting my valuable time".

I was rolling my eyes when I noticed something I'd never seen in Calgary before - Truck Nutz (which is a bit of a miracle in and of itself, given the high redneck-quotient of Calgary).

All my anger was suddenly dispelled. I shook my head and spent the next few blocks chuckling about it.

Dude, it's hard to convey irritation, pettiness and a microscopic penis simultaneously, but you managed. Bravo.

That's funny. We were just talking about said balls in the locker room at work.

We decided that there needed to be a female equivalent. There was a vote, and the 'vagina gas tank cover' was deemed most worthy. Except when ever you filled up your gas tank, you would be required to move the nozzle in and out a bit, and waggle your eyebrows at whom ever was standing at the next pump.

We made our calling steward, Rock (think fifty-something tattooed war veteran), blush positively scarlet.

It's no good. I'd just wait until the last minute then pull the nozzle out of the tank and spray gasoline all over the back of the car.

Then I'd fall asleep at the wheel.

Took you this long to encounter them? You really do avoid traffic then. I've been seeing them for years. They're getting to be a rather tired, old joke. Repetitive like some sixth grader fart joke that the kids just won't stop giggling about, even into their thirties.

Hmmm... I just saw them for the first time last week, myself. Never saw 'em before, and thought it was.... disturbed. Then I thought "you have to be a SERIOUS redneck to hang those things on your pickup". Yeesh...
