Snowing Again... Damnit

It's a beautiful winter day. There's about ten new centimeters of pretty fresh snow on the ground and the entire neighborhood looks like a scene out of a Robert Frost poem.

Too bad it's FUCKING APRIL.

I want to go back to Vancouver - the weather there was awesome the whole weekend.

Yesterday while I was at work it SNOWED. Yes. In New West. In Delta, Richmond and Surrey it snowed also. Today is gorgeous, (thank gawd) magnolias and cherry blossoms in bloom.

I thought we had global warming! What happened?

Hello there, visitor from a remote North Atlantic island.

Global warming? Well I haven't seen any polar bears around recently - they must be migrating farther north!

In the last month the pattern has been:
1) Snow melts due to a chinook.
2) We all get used to the warm weather (ditching jackets and boots, going for walks, etc.)
3) We get a dump of snow.

Getting it all in one day is pretty weird too. -10 in the morning and +10 in the afternoon.

We've had this cycle repeat, once a week, for all of March.

It's frustrating because (as a friend put it in her blog), we keep getting the promise of spring without the actual delivery of spring. It's like Mother Nature keeps holding it out for us, then snatching her hand away when we grab for it.

it's driving me nuts... Ariel doesn't know whether to keep her winter coat or shed it & I feel less inclined to head down to the barn to ride in shitty weather :(
