Pride in Pranksterism

A bunch of us went to La Casa Gelato the other night. They have 218 flavours, including weird-ass stuff like cinnamon, durian, curry, in addition to more traditional fare like chocolate or maple walnut. They'll let you sample the wares since nobody wants a cone-full of a flavour that they end up not liking.
K walks up to her mom [livejournal.com profile] hadriel. "Try this, mommy," she says.
[livejournal.com profile] hadriel puts the spoonful of gelati offered into her mouth.
K says, "It's wasabi flavoured!"
That was an excellently well-timed prank on the eleven-year old's part. She'll soon learn that grown-ups have long memories though.

My bro took me there last year. I did almost the same thing to him, but with the rosemary (and something, which I can't remember) flavoured one.

"Hey, Martin! Try this!"

Martin puts the spoon in his mouth.

"It takes like a plant!"

"WHY WOULD I WANT TO EAT THIS?!"

Yes, but chocolate actually takes a hell of a lot of processing before it even begins to taste like the chocolate people buy to consume- thus chocolate does not taste like a plant.

(How do I know this? H has the mad food-fu skillz and we had a big conversation about the futility of trying to grow coco beans at home.)
